The President of the Cement Producers Association In Iraq, Engineer Ammar Rahim Abdullah Al-Saedi, participated in the regular meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council of the College of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, where he has been a member since 2017. The meeting was held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the College of Chemical Engineering.

The meeting focused on discussing the development of academic curricula and enhancing their alignment with labor market requirements, with the participation of a distinguished group of experts and representatives from the industrial, governmental, and private sectors. Discussions emphasized the importance of linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and productive sectors, and presenting a set of proposals aimed at developing academic programs to help prepare engineering graduates capable of meeting industry needs.

The Cement Producers Association In Iraq  plays an important role in supporting the outcomes of the educational process and linking them to the labor market, as well as contributing to ensuring the quality of educational curricula by providing proposals that support their development and modernization.

In this context, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has recognized the Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association as a trusted industrial partner for the academic, educational, and pedagogical sectors, in order to benefit from its specialized expertise in supporting curriculum development and enhancing practical aspects, thereby contributing to the preparation of graduates equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective integration into the industrial sector.

A cooperation protocol will be signed between the Association and the College of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, covering areas such as graduate training, capacity building, and joint research, in addition to organizing field visits for students and faculty members to cement plants, and proposing research topics for undergraduate and postgraduate students related to the cement industry in Iraq.

The Association’s participation comes as part of its approach to strengthening partnerships with academic institutions and transferring practical expertise into the educational environment, in a way that supports the development of the cement industry and related sectors, and contributes to serving the national economy.
