The Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association, in cooperation with the Chinese company Sinoma, held its first conference, "Integrated Solutions for the Cement Industry in Iraq." The Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association held its joint conference with the Chinese company Sinoma Suzhou at the Rotana Hotel in Sulaimaniyah on December 6, 2025. The conference was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Dr. Helou Al-Askari, the Director General of the Economic Department at the National Investment Commission and its staff, the Dean of the College of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, university professors, representatives from the General Company for Carbon Economics at the Ministry of Environment, members of the administrative board of the Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association, and cement plant staff. Also present from Sinoma were Mr. Wang Jun, Chairman of the Board of Directors, members of the board, and a large number of the company's staff working in all cement plants in Iraq. At the beginning of the conference, the President of the Association, Engineer Ammar Al-Saadi, delivered a welcoming address and a brief overview of the association and its activities. His Excellency the Minister of Environment then delivered a speech in which he praised the association's efforts and the significant development achieved in the cement industry sector in Iraq, thanks to the cooperation and concerted efforts of all involved. Private sector investors, particularly those committed to environmental protection and carbon emission reduction, were commended. The ongoing collaboration between the General Company for Carbon Economics and the Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association to develop a decarbonization roadmap for the Iraqi private cement sector was praised, along with the registration of carbon emission reduction projects with the company. The Association's president delivered a lecture on the Iraqi cement industry's 2030 vision, current production volume, and projected surplus over the next five years.
Sinoma Company also presented on integrated solutions, green and low-carbon cement technologies, digital and intelligent drives, equipment services for sustainable development, and environmental technology introductions. A meeting was held on the sidelines of the conference, attended by the Minister of Environment, representatives from the Association, the General Company for Carbon Economics, and Sinoma Company managers. Discussions focused on future cooperation opportunities in training and development, environmental protection, and the possibility of Sinoma contributing to the Association's proposed project to establish a training center for engineering graduates, providing them with experience certificates to prepare them for work in cement plants. This conference marks the first step in cooperation between the Association and Sinoma Company.
