Ardh Al-Amara Cement Company was established on 5/30/2013. It obtained all official papers from the Companies Registrar Department at the Ministry of Commerce. The approval to establish the Al-Amara Cement Factory project was granted. The project was granted an investment license on 12/31/2023. The first phase of construction began in 2016. The land contract was signed with the State Real Estate Department. From here, the real start of the project construction began, as the import of machinery and equipment from the People's Republic of China and the Republic of West Germany was completed. The company began installing them, stage by stage, until the project was completed. On 4/19/2019, the trial operation was completed. On 8/16/2020, the official opening was held by the company's staff. The opening was attended by Mr. Ali Dawai Lazim, Governor of Maysan. This project is considered one of the strategic projects in the province, as it has contributed to employing workers from inside and outside the province and has had a positive impact on the rest of the projects related to this project. It is worth noting that the company's shareholders are companies with long experience in the cement industry, namely (Khuzestan Cement Company) and (Behbahan Cement Company). These two companies have made every effort to make this project a success. We should not forget the efforts of Maysan Investment Commission and the relevant departments that contributed to the success of the project, especially Maysan Governorate. The company has sought to establish all departments that would ensure the success of the project and the produced material. The company will later seek to expand this project in the near future due to its success, expanding the scope of work, operating and creating job opportunities for the local workforce, as the project relies entirely on the national workforce, as the percentage of local workforce has reached 90% compared to 10% foreign. This is considered a great and distinguished achievement for investment projects. The company has joined the Cement Manufacturers Association in Iraq due to its distinguished position in the cement industry. The company has complied with all instructions of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in all its departments in terms of the quality of cement, laboratory equipment and other departments. The company has future plans to add and develop production lines.
